Company overview

Xeltis develops vascular and cardiovascular implants using its Restorex supramolecular polymer platform. Its headquarters and manufacturing operations are in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. The technology is designed to support endogenous tissue restoration as a porous polymer scaffold is gradually replaced by the patient’s tissue.

Its lead product, the aXess Hemodialysis Conduit, is intended for adults requiring upper-extremity arteriovenous access for hemodialysis. Xeltis announced CE marking in April 2026 and its first commercial implantation in Germany in July. The U.S. program remains investigational; European market entry does not imply FDA approval.

The pipeline also includes coronary bypass, peripheral arterial bypass and restorative pulmonary-valve programs. In July 2026, Xeltis announced €20.5 million in additional funding to support clinical work, manufacturing scale-up and European rollout. Funding is reported as financing, not revenue; sales and headcount were not established in the reviewed sources.

Portfolio overview

Profile covers Xeltis B.V., the aXess family and three investigational vascular/valve programs as of October 28, 2026. Market availability and trial status are stated separately by geography and program.

Hemodialysis vascular access

aXess is the lead commercial product, with an initial European rollout and a separate U.S. pivotal investigation. [12][19][3]

Vascular bypass and pulmonary valve development

Xabg, Xpad and the restorative pulmonary valved conduit apply the tissue-restoration approach to distinct clinical needs. These programs remain investigational. [11][2][4][1]

One marketed family and three investigational programs. Restorex is the shared materials platform, not a separate commercial product.

Summary

Xeltis announced CE marking for aXess on April 21, 2026 and the first commercial implantation in Germany on July 7, 2026. This supports an early European rollout, not universal availability. The reviewed SSCP is manufacturer documentation, not an independently verified CE certificate. [21][19][18]

In the United States, aXess remains investigational. Its pivotal study, NCT06494631, lists enrolling by invitation in the latest July 2026 registry update. Xeltis reports FDA Breakthrough Device Designation; that designation and clinical-study permissions are not FDA marketing approval. [11][3]

Xabg and Xpad remain in clinical evaluation. The pulmonary-valve study NCT03022708 is active, not recruiting, with results posted in August 2026. Current registry status is used instead of older enrollment language on the study website. Planned completion dates and enrollment targets are not completed milestones. [2][4][5][1]

The aXess SSCP identifies a Class III EU device with bioresorbable polymer layers and a nitinol support structure. Tissue restoration is the intended mechanism, not proof of superior lifetime outcomes. Clinical comparisons with historical benchmarks are not randomized head-to-head evidence; the IFU and SSCP retain device risks, including thrombosis, stenosis and infection. [18][16]

Selected exact-name FDA 510(k), PMA and recall searches did not establish matching records. These searches are incomplete, and De Novo was not checked. [6]

Hemodialysis vascular access

aXess Hemodialysis Conduit β†—

Vascular conduit for upper-extremity arteriovenous hemodialysis access in adults with end-stage renal disease. Its electrospun, bioresorbable polymer scaffold is designed to support tissue formation; an embedded nitinol microskeleton provides kink resistance. The complete implant should not be described as wholly resorbing. [12][18][21][19][3]

CE marked Β· European rollout; U.S. investigational

European commercial rollout began in July 2026, according to Xeltis. U.S. use remains investigational; not commercially authorized in the U.S.

Commercial development

Three separate investigational programs are shown below. Registry recruitment status is source-dated; it does not promise enrollment or local access. Clinical trials and their results are not commercial approvals. [2][4][1]

Coronary bypass

Xabg coronary artery bypass conduit β†—

Investigational polymer-based conduit intended for coronary artery bypass surgery. Designed to support endogenous tissue restoration and potentially reduce reliance on harvested vessels. Its first-in-human study is single-arm and non-randomized; benefit over existing grafts is not established by the profile. [11][17][2]

Investigational Β· first-in-human study

Investigational; no commercial marketing authorization established. NCT04545112 lists enrolling by invitation (record updated July 29, 2026).

Peripheral arterial bypass

Xpad peripheral arterial bypass conduit β†—

Investigational conduit for lower-limb peripheral arterial bypass. The early feasibility study covers elective above-knee femoropopliteal bypass; a separate European feasibility study includes above- or below-knee bypass. Trial scopes are kept distinct. [11][4][5]

Investigational Β· feasibility studies

Investigational. NCT06951685 is active, not recruiting (October 6, 2026 update). NCT07716020 is not yet recruiting in its latest July 2026 record; its planned dates are estimates.

Congenital heart disease / RVOT reconstruction

Restorative pulmonary valved conduit β†—

Investigational bioabsorbable pulmonary valved conduit for right ventricular outflow tract reconstruction in selected congenital heart conditions. The Xplore2 registry reports a six-participant cohort with results posted; this small, non-randomized study is not evidence of marketing authorization or comparative superiority. [11][22][1]

Investigational Β· active study, not recruiting

Investigational. NCT03022708 lists active, not recruiting (August 6, 2026 update). Older study-site enrollment wording is superseded by this registry status.
